What’s your dosha, baby?

The feminine and masculine energy - we all have both, in different proportions. We need to learn how to balance one with the other. Be aware of the five senses, use them all to be aware and experience the world and people around you - touch, smell, sound, sight & taste. Experiment with shutting out one to enhance another. Awareness. Maybe you reverse the desire you feel for everyone, and feel that desire towards yourself. Allow it to empower you. You are a temple. Your body is a temple. It is beautiful and pure. Be grateful for your temple. Sat Patim Dehi  /newest book on my shelf - Who’s your dosha, baby? by Lissa Marie Coffey/

#stayuncomfortable

As Simon Sinek would say, you gotta learn to have uncomfortable conversations. And I’m about to have one tomorrow. I really think I should look at it more of like a boss talking to employee, a manager to subordinate if needs to be. And to be strict and fair. Follow up with an email. Copy in Oksana. The right thing to do, official thing to do.  But how do I start it? With which aspect? Hopefully sleep will help me with that…  Update on above: Went pretty well. I stated the fact. She understood. Email to be sent with reiteration.

At least something

Have listened to couple of interviews with Simon Sinek, and I think he has amazing insights about how we can improve our lives. Our relationships. Our jobs. Our look on life. Every suggestion comes with an example that perfectly explains why and how it works. I want to read his book, but he has so many. Which one to start with? Very good question. P.S. to journal. Is it enough to write something like this? Or. What does it mean to journal? TO JOURNAL (verb) - to keep a personal journal  - to enter or record daily thoughts, experiences, etc., in a  journal Soooo.. It does. I am missing the daily part 🙏 But! I am doing so much better than years before, and that I should be proud of! And I am! 🧘🏻‍♀️

Day 5/7

Yesterday was so busy, so yes, I missed a day.  And today was pretty much written off. I really am too old for this shit, who do I need to impress by going out and drinking so much? What is the point? At least I listened to (almost) two modules of the event management course. Productive weekend, here I come! G.xx

Day 3/7

14:51 Missed the notification again! What's the point of them? Yesterday morning was really busy, actually the whole day was quite busy. Good meeting in the afternoon.  15:13 Wes is leaving. Onwards and upwards, as they say. It's a shame that hard working people are leaving, but I guess it kind of makes sense. If you are not appreciated for your hard work here, you will be elsewhere.  23:31 Have spent most of the day in front of the screen, and not doing anything really useful. Lots of Tik Tok, Instagram and Amazon Prime.  Wtf.

Day 2/7

So it has been a busy morning. But I am really happy I started today with a gym session.  Feeling really good about myself. Can't believe I actually on regular basis am going to gym, working out on my own and pushing myself. I'm sure if I had a trainer, I would push myself even more.  I'm excited to find out what my split is. Found my notes from when I attended Hyrox London event as spectator. Here they are:  It’s only you! Everyone else is having their own race, they are doing their own lap, they are at different point in competition Take your time Take quick breaks Doesn’t matter how fast you are doing one station! Someone will be faster, someone will be slower Put yourself closer to speakers! Burpees, stay low, don’t stand up Start with burpee, hands close to your feet Sled pull - chalk! #100wallballs4breakfast Wallballs. Split them into increments Skierg and Rowerg - find the pace, stick to it. Don’t start too hard. Need gloves?! Prep lunch, snacks for before & espe

Day 1/7

Shall we start this again? I feel like I have tried to make journaling an everyday occurrence for couple of times now. How long will I last this time? Maybe I need to put it in calendar, block off some time during day. And have a notification? Probably won't work, there are so many notifications already and most them are being ignored. Notification detox might work.  Reminder put - 10am daily until Sunday /Lauris Reiniks - Tik Balti/

Baz Lurhmann

Image
This morning I listened to an episode of a Table Manners podcast in which a mom and a daughter has Baz in for a meal. And now I'm most likely gonna do a little marathon of his movies, starting with Moulin Rouge. I never actually realised how much of pop songs are mixed in the film and the songs the characters sing. Musical. Baz Luhrmann is an Australian writer, director and producer with projects spanning film, television, opera, theater, music and recording industries /from IMDB website/

3 questions to answer for myself

*What strengths or abilities do you have that you are most grateful for?     I have something to contribute. *Which of your personal quirks have you learned to be grateful for?      Being normal is boring.  * Who in your life has had the greatest impact on shaping the person you have become?     Role models who inspire us to take risks, to try new things, to look at things differently, to know that failure ultimately leads to success.

The Woman King

What if I don’t get any random thoughts? The Woman King - great soundtrack! Good cast and acting. Maybe needed a bit more depth and complexity in the story, it felt very (one sided is wrong word) linear. The walk home though. https://open.spotify.com/track/4iYxrnTvYsTtyphOTqTvkh?si=C8KK6JImRMWCnjedcnDTxg Maybe the random thought. My hair style today reminded me of my teens when I used little hair clips to make mini ponytails. And it made me feel cute. 😂 Or maybe it was the glasses! Loving the new frames! And giving my eyes a bit of a rest.  That’s all.

10 random thoughts

What actually is a random thought? *Reaching a certain excellence, it’s about the journey not about reaching the point of excellence. As the description of excellence will change as soon as you reach it. It wasn’t even my thought. And maybe I need to note those random thoughts as I go through my day. As I think them. Ok. I’ll try tomorrow. G. x

Early mornings

Image
I love early mornings.  They are quiet. It is the best time to have with your thoughts. Alone. Njord - Dark Water The piano. The forest. The breeze. P.S. I have realised that I am an introverted extrovert (prime description found  here ). I fully am both - an introvert and an extrovert, depending on my environment and people around me.

This book is changing my life. And hopefully how I communicate in future. To learn for the first time how to communicate without putting the blame on anyone else, and taking responsibility for your feelings! First two parts of the 4 part process  *Clearly state your observation without including feelings Acknowledging the fact with time and exact example of situation or action. No blame or criticism.  *State how it actually makes you feel This means learning the feelings we have, understanding and acknowledging the feeling. It is not that we feel good or bad, it means that we feel sad, anxious, stressed, happy, excited, etc Buy the book on Amazon

#movienight

I thoroughly enjoyed The Northman movie.  https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11138512/ Yes, it was dark, and it was bloody, and it was trippy at times. But it was also real and music was great! Cinematography quite impressive too. I'm ready to go to bed, been a long weekend.  Tomorrow is a big day. Back at work. Induction (I should probably really do it!) Meetings. Meditation. Lunch with Jolanta. Class with Kate.

Let's Go

Journaling & Accountability When you write down all the jobs you want to do in a day and how long you think it would take for you, my total almost comes up to 23 hours (although, that does not count in travel time)  Let's do basics first! -Sleep 8 hours -Eat 2 hours (breakfast/lunch/dinner - eat and prep) -Work 8 hours -Active 1 hour (workout/yoga) -Read 1 hour -Study 1 hour -Meditate 30 minutes -Journal 30 minutes -Plan the day 30 minutes ----------------------------------------------- Total of 22 hours 30 minutes So let's try this! Last weeks 7 day kickstart challenge with Jiri inspired me. And when better to start than on 1st May - today!  Couple of other things to note: -Healthy eating (less snacking and sugar, more protein, veggies and fruits) -Drinking enough water (2-3 liter a day) -Socialise (face to face and via calls/texts) -Fast between 8pm and 8am (minimum of 12 hours, if can't do more) -Mindful about spending money -On weekends 8 hour work can be replaced b
